Wow! What a weekend of sports we have on our hands. With five professional sports all going on at one time, we have reached the peak sports season. Let’s take a look at the top sports events for the weekend.

Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Arizona Diamondbacks at Texas Rangers – Friday, October 27

This is World Series Game 1. Game 2 will then be played on Saturday, giving us a weekend of October baseball before the calendar flips the page.

The Diamondbacks and Rangers are both upset winners in their championship series. This should be a great series with a bunch of young talent and some really outstanding pitching.

New York Knicks at New Orleans Pelicans – Saturday, October 28, 2023

The Knicks went toe to toe with the Celtics in the opener but fell a little short. Now, they are heading south to take on Zion Williamson and the Pelicans.

New Orleans was an impressive winner in Game 1 at Memphis. This should be one of the more competitive games on Saturday in the NBA.

Oklahoma Sooners at Kansas Jayhawks – Saturday, October 28, 2023

This is a huge game out of the Big 12. If the Oklahoma Sooners are going to get to the Big 12 title game without a loss, going to Lawrence is a test that they will have to pass.

Look for a competitive game here, as the fans in Kansas are all ready to send the Sooners off. These two teams have been playing for many years as conference rivals, and this will be the final time.

Oregon Ducks at Utah Utes – Saturday, October 28, 2023

The Pac-12 game of the week. Likely, the College Football Game of the Week. The Oregon Ducks are no stranger to these types of games. Really, neither are the Utah Utes. Utah is coming in with a ton of momentum after taking down USC last week.

The Ducks and Utes both have a loss, so a second would crush them in their effort to get to the Pac-12 title game. It’s a mega offense for Oregon against the extreme defense of the Utes.

Colorado Buffaloes at UCLA Bruins – Saturday, October 28, 2023

Another Pac-12 game, and this one at night. It seems Los Angeles is going to be full of big events this weekend, and this one comes from the College Football game.

The Buffaloes are coming off their bye and ready to get back to action. UCLA has been a tough team to get a gauge on, but at home against a hyped Buffaloes team should get them going.

Vegas Golden Knights at Los Angeles Kings – Saturday, October 28, 2023

Two solid Western Conference teams get together at the former Staples Center. Vegas is unbeaten through seven games this season.

The Kings have been solid as well and want to be one of the teams talked about when discussing Western Conference playoff potential. Many eyes will be on when a team can beat the defending champions.

Xfinity 500 – Sunday October 29, 2023

NASCAR on a Sunday. Ridgeway Virginia – Martinsville Speedway is the home of this race. The 263-mile, 500-lap race was won last season by Christopher Bell.

In the NCS circuit, Bell also won the Dixie Vodka 400 last week at Homestead, Florida. It will be interesting to see if he can stay hot here.

Colorado Avalanche at Buffalo Sabres – Sunday, October 29, 2023

The Avalanche are another team that has yet to lose to start the season on ice. The Avalanche will face a tough test as they have an early game on the road. The Sabres are young and talented enough to be really pesky.

Look for a fun NHL game, with a chance to finally see the Avalanche get beat on Sunday.

New York Jets at New York Giants – Sunday, October 29, 2023

The battle of New York in the National Football League. These two teams share their venue to play. It will be a fun crowd on hand.

The Jets and Giants are both defensive teams that are trying to find ways to score. Zach Wilson vs. Tyrod Taylor. Can’t miss it, right?

Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos – Sunday, October 29, 2023

A rematch of the Week 7 Thursday Night Football game. This time, the game is in Denver. If the Broncos want to make a run at contending for a playoff spot, this is a game that could really jump-start them.

Kansas City has won six straight games, so Denver will need to really cool them down.

Chicago Bears at Los Angeles Chargers – Sunday, October 29, 2023

Sunday Night Football. This will likely feature Tyson Bagent as the quarterback of the Chicago Bears. He is unbeaten after beating the Raiders last weekend. This is a game that the Chargers must win at home.

If Los Angeles loses this on Sunday Night Football, there is a chance they won’t have a head football coach Monday afternoon.

San Antonio Spurs at Los Angeles Clippers – Sunday, October 29, 2023

Another Los Angeles game. Victor Wembanyama will come to town. The top pick in the draft showed a ton of promise Wednesday in the loss to the Mavericks. This will be his first trip to Los Angeles.

This is going to be an interesting Clippers squad. Obviously talented, but also aged. Can they stay healthy to compete at or near the top of the West?

Sporting Kansas City at St. Louis City SC – Sunday, October 29, 2023

It’s playoff time in the MLS. This is the first of a best of 3. These two teams have no love lost coming from the state of Missouri. St. Louis City, SC, is the top seed despite this being their first season in MLS.

Enjoy the weekend! It should be a great sports weekend with tons of action and great games. Best of luck!
