Top Sports Events for this Weekend

This Halloween weekend will be full of treats for sports fans, as we’ll see some great sporting events. With the World Series underway, some huge games in the college football world, and a Sunday full of NFL action, sports fans won’t be scared away.

Let’s take a look at this weekend’s top sporting events.

Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Major League Baseball

The World Series has now become a best-of-five, as the Braves and Astros will head to Game 3 on Friday night in Atlanta tied at one game apiece. The Braves took it to the Astros in Game 1, but the Astros rebounded and beat the Braves in Game 2. Game 3 will feature two talented, young right-handers on the mound, as the Braves will send Ian Anderson to the hill, and the Astros will counter with Luis Garcia.

Game 4 will be played on Saturday, while Game 5 will be played on Sunday. It should be a fun weekend full of great Major League Baseball action as the Braves and Astros fight to win the 2021 World Series.

College Football

It will be a big weekend for the Big 10, as we’ll see two featured matchups. The first one will take place in East Lansing in a battle of undefeated squads, as the #6 Michigan Wolverines will take on the #8 Michigan State Spartans. The winner of this one will have an advantage in the race for the Big 10 East.

The other featured matchup will see #20 Penn State head to Columbus to take on #5 Ohio State. The Buckeyes have been on a roll since losing to Oregon. They have one of the top offenses in the country, and no one has been able to stay close to them. We’ll see if Penn State can rebound after their bad loss to Illinois in nine overtimes last weekend.

The other top game on the college football schedule will be in Jacksonville, Florida as the #1 Georgia Bulldogs and the Florida Gators meet in the annual “World’s Largest Cocktail Party”. Georgia has the best defense in college football. Florida’s offense was able to put up a lot of points on Alabama’s stout defense, so we’ll see if they can score on Georgia.

National Football League

We’ve made it to Week 8 of the NFL season, and we’ll see another great slate of games. In the early time slot, we’ll see a rivalry renewed, as the Pittsburgh Steelers head to Cleveland to take on the Browns. The Browns have been hurt by injuries, but whenever the Steelers come to town, we always see some great action.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who sport one of the top offenses in the league, will head to the Superdome to take on the New Orleans Saints and their top-rated defense. While the Saints’ offense has been suspect this season, their defense has been phenomenal. They’ve given up the least amount of points in the league. We’ll see if Tom Brady can defeat the New Orleans crowd and their tough defense.

The Sunday night game will feature two high-powered offenses, as the Dallas Cowboys will head north to take on the Minnesota Vikings. Dak Prescott and Kirk Cousins have had very good seasons thus far. They both have an arsenal full of weapons, and both teams can score points in bunches. We’ll see which defense steps up.
