Weekly Sports Recap & Update – October 22nd Edition

As it seems that autumn is finally here, we’re nearing the beginning of the Fall Classic, and the football world is in full swing! While we won’t see the caliber of football games that we’ve seen over the last couple of weeks, we’ll still see some great action.

Let’s take a look at the upcoming weekend’s sporting events.

Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Top Sports Events for This Weekend – October 23 – October 24

Major League Baseball

We’re nearing the World Series, as the League Championship Series are coming to an end. On Saturday, the Atlanta Braves will host the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series.

The Dodgers will send Max Scherzer to the mound, while the Braves will more than likely counter with young fireballer Ian Anderson. The Braves have a 3-2 lead in this one and are looking to avoid another postseason collapse.

Pending the results of Friday night’s Game 6, we could also see a Game 7 on Saturday between the Boston Red Sox and the Houston Astros. These two face off on Friday with the Astros holding a 3-2 lead, and the game will be played at Minute Maid Park in Houston.

If Nathan Eovaldi and the Sox can win Game 6, it’ll set the stage for a dramatic Game 7 in Houston.

College Football

While the last two weeks have brought us some memorable games, things seem to slow down this week. There are no games pitting ranked teams against each other, so we can only hope for an upset or two to make the weekend exciting.

The top game of the weekend involves two Big 12 teams as the undefeated Oklahoma State Cowboys head to Ames, Iowa, to take on the Iowa State Cyclones.

The Cyclones were predicted to finish at or near the top of the Big 12, but they haven’t played up to expectations this season and enter this one unranked. They would love nothing more than to knock the Cowboys from the ranks of the unbeaten.

NFL

Much like in the college ranks, we’ve seen a lot of exciting games in the NFL over the past two weeks. Things seem to slow down this week. We see a lot of games with some very large point spreads. Two games on this week’s slate stand out to us.

The first one features the Cincinnati Bengals taking on the Baltimore Ravens. The Bengals are 4-2 and in second place in the AFC North, while the Ravens lead the division at 5-1. Lamar Jackson is one of the top quarterbacks in the league, while Joe Burrow is working his way up the ladder.

The other game that we look forward to watching on Sunday is the Kansas City Chiefs heading to Music City to take on the Tennessee Titans. The Titans are coming off of a huge upset of the Buffalo Bills last Monday night. The Chiefs haven’t played up to expectations this season as they come into this week with a 3-3 record.

The Chiefs have one of the worst defenses in the league, and they’ll have their hands full with the best running back in the league, Derrick Henry.
