Here we are – starting a new month. December has arrived. The final month of 2023 already. There are some great sporting events this weekend. Let’s take a look at some of the best:
Hero World Challenge
Thursday November 30 – Sunday December 3rd, 2023
From the Bahamas, some of the best golfers in the world for this four day event. Tiger Woods will be playing here, along with Justin Thomas and other notables. This should be a fun warm up for many of these guys that have spent quite a bit of time off from the game. If nothing else, at least it will be warm!
UConn Huskies at Kansas Jayhawks
Friday December 1st, 2023
What a big time College Basketball game. This is a battle of the last two national champions. The two teams meet up in Lawrence, where they are both Top 5. UConn has been blasting non conference opponents, but the Jayhawks on the road will be a different beast. This could be the best College Basketball game of the year to date. Must watch hoops Friday from Lawrence!
Oregon Ducks vs. Washington Huskies

The College Football game of the weeknd? Possibly! The Pac-12 title game. Many consider this a do or die game. The winner of this game should get into the College Football Playoff. Oregon is looking to get revenge on their only loss of the season. The Huskies would love to stay perfect, and move to wins away from a national title.
Philadelphia 76ers at Boston Celtics

A great NBA game in Boston. Two Eastern Conference contenders will get together. Joel Embiid did not play Wednesday night against the Pelicans, so we expect him to return and be ready to go in this one. The Celtics have been one of the best teams in the league to start 2023 season. Look for a fun game, with Jayson Tatum on the court against Joel Embiid.
Georgia Bulldogs vs. Alabama Crimson Tide

The SEC title game, and likely the two programs with the most recent national title success of any in the country. The Bulldogs are seeking their third straight national title. First is the SEC title game, where the Bulldogs look to stay unbeaten. Alabama will need this win, and some help if they want to get into the playoff.
Gonzaga Bulldogs at USC Trojans

A big time College Basketball game on Saturday night. Two really good West Coast programs get together. The Bulldogs are once again ranked, while many are keeping their eyes on this USC basketball team. Will this game turn into a track meet? This could be fun to watch with all the talent on the floor.
Houston Dynamo FC at Los Angeles FC

It’s the Western Conference Finals in the MLS. Houston will take a tough trip to Los Angeles to take on the team many expect to be champions later this month. This is the first game of the series, so look for the intensity to rise as the game goes on.
Orlando Magic at Brooklyn Nets

The Orlando Magic have been one of the biggest surprises in the National Basketball Association. They will bring their young talent, and fundamental group to Brooklyn to battle the Nets. This should be a fun game, and a game between two teams that get overlooked a little with the powers at the top of the East.
Washington Capitals at Vegas Golden Knights

Washington heads West to take on the Golden Knights. The Capitals have gotten off to a quick start this season, but playing the defending champions on the road is going to be a test. The NHL is not a place for slumps, which puts emphasis on each game night in and night out. This should be no expectation.
Creighton Blue Jays at Nebraska Cornhuskers

In College Basketball action, long time geographical rivals will get together. The action on the court may not be all that competitive, as the Blue Jays are one of the most talented teams in the country. But, going on the road to a Big Ten school will never be a walk in the park. It will be interesting to see how these two teams fare.
San Francisco 49ers at Philadelphia Eagles

The NFL is into Week 13. These two teams met in the NFC title game a season ago, and are in line to do so again here. The 49ers are favorites by a field goal, despite being on the road. Can Jalen Hurts stay hot and win yet another big game during the 2023 regular season?
Kansas City Chiefs at Green Bay Packers

Sunday Night Football from Lambeau Field in December. The first time Patrick Mahomes will play in Green Bay. The Packers are seeking their third straight win, and a win here would put them squarely in the picture for the NFC Wildcard spots. In fact, a win, and a Lions loss, and things get interesting in the divisional race.
Colorado Avalanche at Los Angeles Kings

The final sports event of the weekend is in Los Angeles. The Colorado Avalanche will invade the Los Angeles Kings. Two well schooled teams are going to grind it out, and likely keep this game low scoring. This has a potential playoff meeting written all over it. Expect a great game on Sunday Night to finish the week.
