Weekly Sports Recap & Update – July 14th Edition

We have reached the middle of July. We are starting to get beyond the worst part of the entire year when it comes to Sports on the calendar. Let’s take a look at some of the top events for the weekend.

Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

NBA Summer League – Weekend of Action

We have action all weekend long from the NBA Summer League. In fact, the tournament gets going on Saturday at 2:30 pm ET. After the final games on Friday, teams will be sorted out in a bracket-style and see what happens. It’s anyone’s guess as to who will win the games; the main thing is the talent that the young players bring to the court in Vegas.

UFC Fight Night

From the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. This should be a great event with 13 fights on tap. The main fight is scheduled to see Holly Holm take on Mayra Bueno Silva. Holm was originally supposed to take on Miesha Tate. Vegas has plenty of action, but that is no surprise for the city growing in sports interest.

Boston Red Sox at Chicago Cubs – Three-Game Series

These two iconic teams will get together for a three-game series in Chicago. Neither team looks to be heading to the postseason, but anytime you can get the Red Sox and Cubs in the same building, you have some fun baseball to be played. Boston struggled before the break and know they have to win a bunch of keep pace in the American League Wildcard hunt.

Scottish Open – Weekend Action

So, this will be earlier than usual for fans in the United States. Wake up early morning and see some golf. This will also finish early afternoon on Sunday. Jon Rahm, Xander Scheffuele, Rickie Fowler, Rory Mcllroy, and many others are at this event. This is a great warm-up for The Open Championship that will get underway next week.

Inter Miami at St. Louis City SC – Saturday

St. Louis City SC is one of the top teams in the league. Sure, they lost Wednesday to Los Angeles, but now they get Miami in town. Will Messi be in the building with his new team? There is no indication either way, but the spotlight is now on. This is an evening game and is part of an entire day full of action in the MLS.

Houston Astros at Los Angeles Angels – Three-Game Series

Shohei Ohtani is going to pitch in the first game of the series. Both teams have plenty of reasons they need wins. The Astros need wins to keep pace with the Rangers at the top of the American League West.

The Angels need wins to stay somewhat relevant and not sell at the trade deadline coming up at the end of the month. This is also the Sunday Night Baseball game for this week.

Crayon 301

The folks in New Hampshire for some NASCAR. Christopher Bell won this event last year at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Can he do it again? This will be brought to you on TV by USA. Be sure to tune in for a thrilling race!

Los Angeles Dodgers at New York Mets – Three-Game Series

Two of the biggest markets in all of MLB. The Dodgers started playing better late in the first half and have caught Arizona. Now, who plays better baseball in the second half is the question.

Max Scherzer opens the series for the Mets, and no team could benefit more from a huge winning streak than the Mets. New York has not lived up to expectations, and the media is killing them about it.

Wimbledon – Men’s and Women’s Finals

The women will finish up with their finals on Saturday, while the men’s will take place on Sunday. Women see Vondrousova vs. Jabeur, while the Men are down to four with Sinner/Djokovic, Alcaraz, and Medvedev. This should be some incredible golf at Wimbledon you will not want to miss!
