NFL Sundays always have a lot of great football, but Saturday is conference championship day, so we’ll see some great college football games, highlighted by the game everyone wants to see, Georgia vs. Alabama. Let’s take a look at these and some of the other top sporting events for the upcoming weekend.

Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Top Sports Events for This Weekend – December 4 – December 5

College Football

It’s conference championship week, and we have some huge games on Saturday’s slate. In what could be the Game of the Year, the Georgia Bulldogs and their impenetrable defense will take on Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide. Georgia is all but guaranteed a spot in the College Football Playoffs, but with another loss, the Tide would be at two, and we’re not sure if the committee would put a two-loss team in the playoffs.

Another huge game with playoff implications is the Iowa Hawkeyes taking on the Michigan Wolverines in the Big 10 title game. A win over Iowa probably gets the Wolverines into the “Final Four”. If Jim Harbaugh’s team loses this one, it will be another tough year for him and the Wolverine faithful.

Another team in need of a victory is the Cincinnati Bearcats. The Bearcats are undefeated on the season, and are on the brink of making the playoffs. A loss would kill any chance of the Bearcats making the playoffs, so they know that they need a solid victory over the Houston Cougars.

NBA Action

We’ll see some great NBA action this weekend. On Saturday, we’ll have some tremendous Eastern Conference matchups. The Chicago Bulls will travel to Brooklyn to take on the Nets, while the Miami Heat will head north to Milwaukee to take on Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

NFL

While we don’t have a premier matchup until Monday night, there are always some great games on NFL Sundays. Two of the top matchups on Sunday will see the Baltimore Ravens heading to Pittsburgh to take on the reeling Steelers, and the Denver Broncos going to Kansas City to take on the resurgent Chiefs. Both of these games could have some playoff implications, as losses by Denver and Pittsburgh could really cripple any hope that they may have of making it to the postseason.

College Basketball

While we won’t have many top matchups this weekend, there will be one huge game in Seattle on Saturday. In the Battle of Seattle, the Gonzaga Bulldogs will take on the Alabama Crimson Tide. Since coming to Alabama, Nate Oats has turned the Tide into one of the top teams in the SEC, and a perennial NCAA Tournament squad.

Mark Few has been a stalwart at Gonzaga for many years. The Zags are always in the “Big Dance”, and this year’s squad could be Few’s most talented team in all of his years at Gonzaga. This game should have a lot of offense, and should be very fun to watch.
