Weekly Sports Recap & Update – April 29th Edition

For the first time since the Super Bowl, we’ll see some meaningful NFL action. No, it’s not a game of any kind, but it is a very eagerly awaited event, the NFL Draft. Besides the draft, we also could potentially see four Game 7’s this weekend.

We’re also going to see the start of an Eastern Conference semifinals series that will see three of the top players in the league square off. We also can’t forget another exciting NASCAR event on Sunday.

Here are some of the top sporting events for the upcoming weekend.

Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Top Sports Events for This Weekend – April 30 – April 31

NBA Playoff Action

On Saturday, we have a chance to see not one, not two, but three Game 7’s. If the lower seeds all win on Thursday night, we’ll see a Game 7 in the Phoenix-New Orleans, Dallas-Utah, and Toronto-Philadelphia series.

While it’s highly unlikely that all three series will go to a seventh game, we anticipate seeing at least one of these games on Saturday night.

On Sunday, we have a chance of seeing another Game 7. If Minnesota defeats Memphis in their Game 6 matchup, we’ll see Game 7 in Memphis on Sunday.

A game we’re guaranteed to see on Sunday will be Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals between the #2 seed, the Boston Celtics, and the #3 seed, the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Celtics have been playing great basketball. They just got done sweeping the Brooklyn Nets, and now they have a date with Giannis Antetokonmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

One thing going for Boston is the fact that Khris Middleton won’t be available for Milwaukee in this series. We’ll also see if Milwaukee has a way to stop Jayson Tatum and Khris Middleton.

Major League Baseball

The top series of the weekend will feature two of the American League’s top teams, as the Houston Astros will head north of the border to take on the AL East-leading Toronto Blue Jays.

Toronto has one of the best lineups in the game, and they’ve assembled a very formidable starting staff. Houston also has a very good lineup that has yet to get going this season. Houston will be looking to get their season going, as they’ve not yet played as well as expected.

We’ll see if the Astros can get going or if the Blue Jays continue to lead the American League East.

NASCAR

On Sunday afternoon, the NASCAR Cup Series will run at the Dover Motor Speedway in the DuraMAX Drydene 400. Kyle Larson is the favorite to win at Dover this weekend.

Ryan Blaney, Chase Elliott, William Byron, Alex Bowman, and Martin Truex Jr. are some of the favorites to end up in victory lane.

NFL Draft

Even though the bigger-name players will already be off of the board, the later rounds of the NFL Draft will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The NFL Draft has become one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year, and NFL fans even stick around to follow their favorite teams’ picks in the later rounds of the draft.
