Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Top Sports Events for This Weekend – Oct. 24 – Oct. 25

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 24 – Sunday, Oct. 25

Saturday, Oct. 17

Soccer

There are some interesting matches on Saturday, including a Bundesliga battle between Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt, but let’s not kid ourselves. The top match of the day takes place in the English Premier League between Manchester United and Chelsea. The Blues have 2 wins, a draw, and a loss. Man U has 2 wins and 2 draws.

UFC 254: Khabib vs. Gaethje

Two of the most feared fighters at Ultimate Fighting Championships headline UFC 254 at the Flash Forum in Abu Dahabi, UAE on Saturday. Many consider Khabib Nurmagomedov the best fighter in mixed martial arts history. Khabib faces a strong fighter in Justin Gaethje, though.

In addition to the main event, Dana White has put together a nice undercard. Robert Whittaker against Jared Cannonier and Alexander Volkov against Walt Harris are great fights. Make sure to watch Magomed Ankalaev take on Ion Cutelaba. Ankalaev is a super talented light heavyweight.

MLB World Series – Game 4

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays hit the diamond on Friday night for Game 3 tied up at 1-1. On Saturday, Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts will start Julio Urias. Rays manager Kevin Cash has yet to declare a starter. Cash knows what he’s doing, though. So, if you like Tampa don’t worry if Kevin doesn’t say who’s starting until the day of.

NCAAF Week 8

Big Ten juggernaut Ohio State starts their quest for a National Championship against the Nebraska Cornhuskers at home on Saturday. Most project Ohio State to dominate the conference. Penn State, the only team football prognosticators take seriously as a Buckeye rival, begins their quest for the College Football Playoff versus Indiana.

Some of the other top games on Saturday include #23 NC State at #14 North Carolina, #2 Alabama heading to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Volunteers, and #17 Iowa State against #7 Oklahoma State in Stillwater.

Sunday, Oct. 25

Soccer

On Sunday, Premier League Standings leader Everton takes on Southampton. The Southies have 2 wins, 2 losses, and a draw. Everton has won 4 and drawn once. If Everton’s for real, they should have no trouble beating Southampton by at least 2 goals.

NASCAR: AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 500 – Texas Motor Speedway

The NASCAR Palyoffs continue on Sunday when drivers head to Texas Motor Speedway for the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 500. Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, and Brad Keselowski are the top four drivers. Remember, you must make the top four if you wish to race for the NASCAR Cup at Phoenix on November 8.

Chase Elliott, Alex Bowman, Martin Truex Jr., and Kurt Busch have just two races, Texas this Sunday and Martinsville next Sunday, to get into the final four. That makes the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 500 a do or die race.

MLB World Series – Game 5

If the Dodgers or Rays win on Friday and Saturday, Game 5 on Sunday could determine who wins the 2020 World Series. Dave Roberts has decided to start Clayton Kershaw on Sunday. That could change if the Dodgers lose Game 3 or Game 4.

Like what he always does, Kevin Cash will make a decision on a starter after Saturday’s game. If the Rays win on Friday or Saturday, Cash most likely will go with Glasnow, his Game 1 starter.

NFL Week 7

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans are both 5-0. Their clash on Sunday could determine which team wins homefield advantage in the AFC Playoffs. That makes Steelers-Titans NFL Week 7’s top game.

The league moved Tampa Bay versus Las Vegas to Sunday afternoon. The Raiders came up with at least five COVID positives, including three starters along the offensive line. The Sunday night game is now Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals.

Have a great weekend!
