Weekly Sports Recap & Update – January 26th Edition

The Super Bowl is coming soon, and that’s always one of the biggest sporting events of the entire year, but this weekend is a close second. There are two massive football games on the schedule, but the action doesn’t stop with just football.

Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Here is a look at some of the top sports events for the weekend.

AFC Championship Game: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Baltimore Ravens

Two of the top teams in football square off on Sunday afternoon when the Kansas City Chiefs visit the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore is a slim 3.5-point spread in this game, and playing at home has definitely impacted those odds.

Even if Baltimore is able to find a way to win this game, you would have to expect that this is going to be a terrific battle. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are used to showing up in big games, and this is one of the biggest of them all.

Taking the 3.5-points and backing the Chiefs is the best bet to make for the AFC Championship Game.

NFC Championship Game: Detroit Lions vs. San Francisco 49ers

The NFC Championship Game has a much larger spread as the San Francisco 49ers are 7.0-point betting favorites at home over the Detroit Lions. Detroit has been a terrific story all season long as they are finally having some postseason success.

The Lions love to throw the football, but there will simply be too much pressure on Jared Goff in this matchup. San Francisco has had a dominant defense all season long, and running back Christian McCaffrey has been extremely tough to slow down when running the football.

This game could get away from the Chiefs in a hurry as San Francisco is simply a much better overall team. Bet on the 49ers to win and cover the spread in this matchup.

Kansas Jayhawks vs. Iowa State Cyclones

The Big 12 Conference continues to be a great league when it comes to college basketball, and this is going to be a big game on Saturday. Kansas is coming into this game with a record of 16-3, while Iowa State is sitting at 15-4 on the year.

These two teams get the job done in very different ways as Kansas really wants to try to push the tempo on offense. Iowa State will be trying to slow this game down on both ends of the floor, and they will have the support of a huge home crowd.

Kansas should find a way to win this game, but it’s not going to be an easy task.

Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. Oklahoma Sooners

The 15-3 Texas Tech Red Raiders are set to visit the 15-4 Oklahoma Sooners in what will be another huge game in the Big 12 Conference. Those standings continue to be extremely tight, and the winner of this game will pick up a huge win in the conference race.

The overall season statistics are extremely tight for both of these teams, and that should lead to a great battle on the floor. Oklahoma has the advantage of playing this game at home, and that should end up mattering in the end.

Oklahoma will find a way to get the job done as they pick up a big win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
