It’s going to be a huge weekend in the world of sports, and everything is going to lead up to the Super Bowl. This is always one of the biggest weekends of the year, and the Super Bowl matchup this year is terrific.

While most are going to be focusing on the Super Bowl, there are some other big sporting events set to take place as well. Everything will seemingly stop on Sunday during the football game, but there will be some great action throughout the weekend leading up to that event.

Here is a look at some of the top events of the weekend.

Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Super Bowl LVIII: San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The biggest event of this weekend will be Super Bowl LVIII and the matchup this year should be one of the best in recent memory. San Francisco opened up as a 3.5-point betting favorite in this game, but that line has now moved down to just two points.

Kansas City has made it to the AFC Championship Game at least in six straight years, and Patrick Mahomes is one of the best players in league history. This Chiefs team has already picked up two impressive wins in the postseason, and they are looking to win their third in a row.

San Francisco has been one of the top teams in the league all season long, and they are favored in this game for a reason. The 49ers are a terrific team, and they are going to come up with a big win in this matchup.

Waste Management Phoenix Open

The Waste Management Phoenix Open is the next stop of the PGA Tour, and this is always an event that is extremely exciting. Since the golf course and atmosphere are always terrific, most of the top players in the world show up to enter this big event.

It has already been a great year on the PGA Tour, and the action is only going to continue to get better as the year moves along. Scottie Scheffler is the betting favorite to win the WM Phoenix Open at +450, but there are some other players in the mix as well.

Here are some of the other players that will be in the mix at the WM Phoenix Open:

  • Justin Thomas +1100

  • Max Homa +1800

  • Jordan Spieth +1800

  • Sam Burns +2200

Baylor Bears vs. Kansas Jayhawks

College Basketball is going to become an even bigger focus as soon as the NFL season is over, but there are big games set to take place this weekend as well. The biggest game this weekend will come from the Big 12 Conference as the Baylor Bears are set to visit the Kansas Jayhawks.

This is a matchup of Top 25 teams, and both teams are expected to be featured when it’s time for the NCAA Tournament. Baylor has enough shooters to keep this game close, but it’s not going to be easy on the road at Kansas.

The Jayhawks should be able to find a way to win this game on their home floor as they continue their march to another conference title.
