Weekly Sports Recap & Update – February 23rd Edition

As another weekend approaches, it’s time to start looking at some of the biggest sporting events that are going to be on the calendar. The Super Bowl is always the biggest event of the year in February, but every weekend seems to deliver some great action.

There will be a number of different sporting events taking place this weekend, and that will also lead to some great betting opportunities. Here are three of the top sports events for this weekend to keep on your radar.

Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Mexico Championship

The Mexico Championship is the stop on the PGA Tour this weekend, but it’s not an event that tends to attract the biggest names in the sport. Most players have chosen to sit out this weekend to prepare for the next big event, but there are still at least a few big names taking to the course.

Tony Finau is the defending champion of this event, and he was also the betting favorite at +850 when the action began. There will be some other players that are going to make a run at Finau this weekend, but it’s hard to see anyone ready to knock him off.

When making a bet on the Mexico Championship, going with Tony Finau at +850 is going to be the way to go as he puts together four solid rounds yet again.

Houston Cougars vs Baylor Bears

The College Basketball season just continues to deliver some great games every single weekend, and there is a huge showdown coming in the Big 12 Conference. In-state rivals are set to battle it out as the Houston Cougars are going to be visiting the Baylor Bears.

The betting spread for this game is expected to be extremely tight as Baylor is going to get a nice boost from playing this game on their home floor. Houston has proven that they are able to win games anywhere this season, and that defense just continues to stifle opposing teams.

This should be a game in which points are hard to come by, and that is how Houston loves to play their games. Betting on the Houston Cougars to win and cover the spread in this game is going to be the best bet to make.

Ambetter Health 400

The NASCAR Cup Series is now off and running as the Daytona 500 once again delivered some drama and excitement last weekend. Now the action is going to shift to Atlanta this weekend for the Ambetter Health 400.

The betting odds for this race are extremely tight, and that makes sense as the NASCAR season is really just getting going in 2024. Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano are the two favorites heading into the race, but there will be other drivers that are pushing hard for a title.

Ryan Blaney is going to be a driver to watch this weekend as he continues to be someone that is favored in many races. Just like with any other NASCAR Cup Series race, there will be some betting value regardless of which way you go.
