Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Top Sports Events for This Weekend – January 1 – January 2

College Football Bowl Season

On Saturday, as is the case every New Year’s Day, we will see a ton of great bowl action. We’ll start the day off with the Outback Bowl, as Arkansas will take on the Penn State Nittany Lions.

From there, we’ll see a good one in the Fiesta Bowl, as the Big 12’s Oklahoma State Cowboys will take on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. In the Citrus Bowl, the Iowa Hawkeyes will face off against the Kentucky Wildcats. In the “Granddaddy of them All”, the Rose Bowl, the Utah Utes out of the Pac-12 will take on the Big 10’s Ohio State Buckeyes.

And in the final bowl game of the day, we’ll head to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl, as the Big 12 Champs, the Baylor Bears, will take on Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss Rebels.

College Hoops

Saturday will be a huge day for Baylor University. Not only will their football team be playing in the Sugar Bowl, but their college basketball team will be playing in a huge game.

The top-ranked Baylor Bears will head to the Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa, to take on the eighth-ranked Iowa State Cyclones in a battle of two of the five remaining undefeated teams in Division One.

Baylor is one of the most athletic teams in the country, while the surprising Iowa State Cyclones will try to negate Baylor’s speed and quickness.

Hilton will be rocking and should be a great atmosphere for some fun college basketball action.

NFL Action

On Sunday, we’ll see a lot of games with playoff implications. The premier game of the day will feature the Kansas City Chiefs heading to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals. The Chiefs are playing for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, while the Bengals want to get one step closer to clinching the AFC North.

Another huge game will take place in the NFC, as the Arizona Cardinals will travel to AT&T Stadium to take on the Dallas Cowboys. Arizona has clinched a playoff spot, but they’re still in the race to win the NFC West, so they want to get back on the winning track.

Dallas has clinched a playoff spot as well, but they’re still in contention for home-field advantage, so this is an important one for the Cowboys.

Miami will travel to Tennessee to take on the Titans. This is a must-win game for the Dolphins. Another big game will see the Raiders taking on the Colts. The Colts will be without Carson Wentz, who tested positive for Covid. Both teams desperately need a win in this one.

Almost every game on Sunday will have some sort of tie to the playoffs, so we’ll see teams playing at a very high level.
