Weekly Sports Recap & Update – April 4th Edition

The first weekend of April always tends to be a big one when it comes to the wide world of sports, and that will be the case this year as well. Basketball is going to be a major focus this weekend, but there are some other sports to check out as well.

Not only will there be some highly entertaining sporting events this weekend, but there will also be some great betting opportunities. March is typically a month that gets a ton of attention in the sports betting industry, but April will provide some excitement as well.

Here are three of the biggest events set to take place this weekend, and some of the top picks to make.

Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Men’s Final Four

The biggest sporting event set to take place this weekend will take place in Phoenix as that is the site of the Men’s Final Four. The NCAA Tournament always seems to deliver some great excitement and drama, and it all leads up to the best weekend in basketball.

The UConn Huskies are big 11.5 point betting favorites over Alabama in one of the games, and UConn is also the big favorite to win the title. In the other semifinal game, the Purdue Boilermakers are 9.5-point betting favorites over N.C. State.

UConn and Purdue shouldn’t have much trouble advancing to the title game, but that is where things will get interesting. The Boilermakers have the size to hang with the Huskies, but UConn is going to roll to a championship.

Women’s Final Four

While the men’s Final Four typically gets all of the attention, there will be some great action on the women’s side of things as well. Women’s college basketball is a sport on the rise and Caitlin Clark has helped that out.

Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes will take on Paige Bueckers and the UConn Huskies in one of the seminal games. That should be a great battle, with the winner moving on to take on the undefeated South Carolina Gamecocks.

South Carolina is a big betting favorite to win the national championship, and that’s for good reason. The Gamecocks are absolutely loaded with talent and they will come away with a title.

Valero Texas Open

Next weekend is going to be the first major golf tournament of the year as the top players will head to Augusta National for the Masters. Many of the biggest names in golf are not going to tee it up this weekend, but there is still a big tournament.

The Valero Texas Open is going to provide some golfers with the final chance to get some momentum ahead of the Masters. Rory McIlroy is a big betting favorite this weekend as those odds are set at +550.

There will be some other golfers that will have a big run this weekend, but this tournament means a lot to McIlroy. Betting on Rory McIlroy at +550 is a great way to go as he will head to Augusta National with some momentum.
