Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Top Sports Events for This Weekend – Oct. 3 – Oct. 4

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 3– Sunday, Oct. 4

Saturday, Oct. 3

Soccer

Pep Guardiola said his Manchester City team would play much better this EPL Season. So far, things haven’t looked rosy for the Sky Blues the way Pep implied. Although Man City dominated Wolverhampton 3-1, Leicester City beat them 5-2 in their last EPL match. That makes Leeds versus Man City one of the most important soccer matches on Saturday.

Major League Baseball Playoffs

No games schedule over the weekend. But pay attention to what happens on Friday. The playoffs restart on Monday when the Tampa Bay Rays take on the New York Yankees.

UFC Fight Night: Holm vs Aldana

Two of the best women mixed-martial artists in the world throw down on Saturday at UFC  Fight Night. Holly Holm and Irene Aldana each have 12-5 records. Holm is a trained boxer while Irene is 3-0 via submission wins. Whichever fighter gets their style working will likely take the win in the UFC Fight Night main event.

Horse Racing: Preakness Stakes

Early betting has Kentucky Derby winner Authentic a 6/5 underlay favorite to dominate his foes in the Preakness Stakes. Filly Swiss Skydiver, five in a row winner Art Collector, underdog Pneumatic, and Authentic’s stablemate, Thousand Words, will try to dethrone the chalk. Watch the Preakness on NBC and make sure to partake in America’s oldest wagering past time!

College Football

In NCAAF Week 5, intriguing matchups abound. The action starts at 12:00 pm ET when South Carolina travels to The Swamp to take on Florida and TCU heads to Austin to battle #9 Texas. The afternoon’s best matchup is #13 Texas A&M versus #2 Alabama. At night, Virginia battles #1 Clemson while #7 Auburn travels to Athens to take on the #3 Georgia Bulldogs. It’s another awesome Saturday of college football action!

Sunday, Oct. 4

Soccer

On Sunday, La Liga has a couple of gigantic matchups. First, Levante battles Real Madrid. Then, in the biggest game, Sevilla takes on Barcelona. Sevilla is 2-0 while Barcelona won their first La Liga game this season. Who wins on Sunday? Check it out!

NASCAR: Cup Series Playoff Race at Taladega

Major League Baseball

No games scheduled. On Monday, the Tampa Bay Rays battle the New York Yankees. Make sure to pay attention to the games on Friday to figure out what other MLB Playoff matchups start on October 5.

NBA Finals: Los Angeles Lakers vs Miami Heat Game 3

Lakers and Heat throw down on Friday night. Make sure to watch that matchup, or at least check out the box score, before handicapping this game. Miami had a rough first game, losing 98-116. What’s worse? Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo may not play in Game 2.

If Miami loses Game 2, it’s difficult to see them winning Game 3. Heck, the Lakers should sweep if the Heat lose the second game.

NFL Week 4

The NFL is postponing Steelers at Titans because some Tennessee players and staff tested positive for the coronavirus. The rest of the Week 4 NFL Schedule remains intact, though. Top matchups include Colts at Bears, Browns at Cowboys, Eagles at Niners, and Bills at Raiders.

New England travels to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs. That’s a great game for the Cam Newton led Patriots to figure out where they’re at. On Monday night, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers host Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons. Think over in Packers versus Falcons because both quarterbacks can light it up.

Have a great weekend!
