Weekly Sports Recap & Update – September 16th Edition

While this week’s slate of games doesn’t have as many high-profile games, we do have some great NFL action once again. Let’s take a look at what’s going on in the sports world this weekend.

Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Top Sports Events for This Weekend – September 17 – September 18

NFL

New England Patriots @ Pittsburgh Steelers

Both of these teams have been perennial favorites to make the playoffs. This year could be different. Both teams aren’t as strong as they’ve been. TJ Watt won’t be playing for Pittsburgh, and the Patriots’ offense looked suspect last weekend. We’ll see which team outlasts the other.

Miami Dolphins @ Baltimore Ravens

The high-powered offense of the Miami Dolphins will take on the strong defense of the Baltimore Ravens. We’ll see if Tua Tagovailoa can solve one of the league’s top defenses. Lamar Jackson better be ready, as the Dolphins’ defense has the ability to be very good.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Dallas Cowboys

We’ll see if Joe Burrow can rebound from last week’s poor performance. We’re also curious to see if the Cowboys can slow down Ja’Marr Chase. Dallas will be without Dak Prescott, so we’ll see how their offense looks.

MLB

Baltimore Orioles @ Toronto Blue Jays

Baltimore is fading fast in the American League playoff race, and they need any win that they can get right now. They’ll be taking a weekend trip to Toronto to take on the Blue Jays. Toronto has climbed into second place in the American League East, just six games behind the New York Yankees. The Jays are still in the divisional race, and they want to keep pace with the red-hot Yankees. We’ll see if Baltimore continues to fade, or if the Blue Jays can gain some ground on the Yankees.

Minnesota Twins @ Cleveland Guardians

The Twins will have a four-game set with the Guardians in Cleveland this weekend. The Twins are currently in third place in the American League Central, six games behind the Guardians. With a good weekend of games, the Twins can gain some ground and quite possibly overtake the Chicago White Sox for second place. If they have a tough weekend, the Twins could put themselves in a hole too deep to get themselves out of.

College Football Action

#12 BYU Cougars @ #23 Oregon Ducks

The BYU Cougars have jumped up the rankings after last weekend’s victory over the Baylor Bears. The Cougars have another tough game this weekend, as they travel to Autzen to take on the Oregon Ducks. After getting destroyed by Georgia in Week 1, the Ducks had an easy one last weekend. We’ll see if Oregon can beat BYU, or if the Ducks will continue to fall in the rankings.

#13 Miami Hurricanes @ #24 Texas A&M Aggies

“The U” is back! Mario Cristobal is revitalizing the Miami program, and with a victory this weekend at College Station, the Hurricanes will put themselves into a great position heading into the conference season. Texas A&M was embarrassed at home last weekend, as they lost to Appalachian State. We’ll see if Jimbo Fisher’s guys can rebound this weekend, or if Fisher’s tenure in College Station becomes a bigger disappointment.
