Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Top Sports Events for This Weekend – May 29 –  May 30

NBA

The NBA Playoffs are in full swing, and after the higher seeds have hosted the first two games, we’ll be seeing games at the lower seed’s venue. We’ll get to see some of the more contested series, as Denver will be in Portland to take on the Trail Blazers, the Knicks will travel to Atlanta to face the Hawks, and the Phoenix Suns will be in Los Angeles to battle with the Lakers. Going into the weekend, these series are all tied at one game apiece.

NHL

The NHL is concluding the first round of its playoffs, and we’ll even see some semi-final round games. On Saturday, we’ll see Game 1 of the New York Islanders vs. Boston Bruins semi-final series. We could also possibly see Game 6 of the Toronto Maple Leafs-Montreal Canadiens series, and we could even get a Game 7, as the Nashville Predators and Carolina Hurricanes could decide their series.

MLB

Major League Baseball has gotten into the heart of its season, and we’ll see a great weekend series between the San Diego Padres and the Houston Astros. This could potentially be a World Series matchup. Game 2 of the series will see Yu Darvish throw for the Padres. Darvish was a huge acquisition made by the Padres in the offseason. Both of these teams are focused on making a World Series run, so this should be a fun three-game set.

PGA Tour

This weekend’s stop on the PGA Tour takes us to the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas for the Charles Schwab Challenge. Coming off of last weekend’s dramatic PGA Championship, we should see more exciting golf this weekend. Speaking of the PGA Championship, the winner of last weekend’s major, Phil Mickelson will be playing the Charles Schwab. He will be joined by Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Tony Finau, Patrick Reed, Will Zalatoris, and Daniel Berger. This field has some great golfers, and that should make for a very exciting tournament.

NASCAR

Sunday will be the biggest day of the racing calendar, as we’ll not only get a NASCAR event, but we’ll also see the 105th running of the Indianapolis 500. Scott Dixon, Colton Herta, Patricio O’Ward, and Josef Newgarden are the favorites to win the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing”.

The NASCAR circuit will make its way to Charlotte, North Carolina. The Xfinity Series race will take place on Saturday, as the drivers will be vying for the checkered flag in the Alsco Uniforms 300. The Coca-Cola 600 will be run on Sunday evening for the NASCAR Cup Series. Kyle Larson, Martin Truex Jr., Chase Elliott, and Kyle Busch are favorites to take home the checkered flag on Sunday.
