Top Sports Events for This Weekend – March 26 – March 27

NCAA March Madness

Basketball fans will have a great weekend, as the NCAA Tournament will whittle the field down from 16 to 8.

The Sweet 16 games will be played on Thursday and Friday nights, while the Elite Eight games will be played on Saturday and Sunday. After this weekend, we’ll know what teams will be playing in next weekend’s Final Four.

Some of the main storylines we’ll be watching this weekend include whether or not the top-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs can make it to another Final Four.

We’ll also see which blue blood makes the next round, as UCLA and North Carolina square off. St. Peters, the #15 seed who has captured the heart of America, will also try and outlast the heavily-favored Purdue Boilermakers.

There are a lot of intriguing matchups in the Sweet 16, and we’ll see even better ones when we get to the Elite Eight.

NBA Action

On Saturday night, we have two matchups between playoff-bound teams. In the east, we’ll see the Brooklyn Nets collide with the East-leading Miami Heat.

Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving will head to South Beach to take on Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler, and the defensive-oriented Miami Heat. These two teams could collide in a big playoff matchup.

Another big Saturday matchup will feature the Milwaukee Bucks traveling to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies. Even though Ja Morant has been hurt and has missed the last couple of games, he could be back for the weekend.

The Bucks are peaking at the right time, as their playoffs will start in just a few weeks. We’ll see if Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks can head to “Grind City” and come out with a big victory.

PGA Tour

Austin, Texas, will be a popular sports destination this weekend. The World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play will be held at Austin Country Club this weekend. This unique match-play tournament will feature many of the top players in the world.

Some of them will be eliminated, and the winners will square off on Sunday. Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Viktor Hovland, Louis Oosthuizen, Xander Schauffele, Colin Morikawa, and Tony Finau headline this field.

NASCAR

The Cup Series will also head to Austin, Texas, and the Circuits of the Americas to run the EchoPark Automotive Texas Grand Prix. This track is nearly 3.5 miles long, and the drivers will only need to complete 68 laps to finish the race.

Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson, Martin Truex Jr., and Kyle Busch are the favorites to take the checkered flag in this unique NASCAR set up.
