Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Top Sports Events for This Weekend – Mar. 20 – Mar. 21

College Basketball

There won’t be much work being done this weekend, as many workplace computer screens and televisions will be tuned in to the 2021 NCAA Tournament. This year’s tournament is being played under some unique circumstances. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s tournament is being played in a “bubble” in Indianapolis. Four sites in Indianapolis will play host to all of this year’s NCAA Tournament. While the tournament will start on Friday with 64 teams, by Monday evening, the field will be whittled down to the Sweet 16. College basketball fans won’t be able to get enough of this weekend’s action!

NBA

Even though much of the basketball world will be tuned in to the NCAA Tournament, there will still be plenty of great NBA action to watch on Saturday and Sunday. The game of the weekend will feature the Los Angeles Lakers travelling to the “Valley of the Sun” to take on the Phoenix Suns. The Suns currently hold a slight lead over the Lakers for the second spot in the Western Conference playoff standings. The Phoenix Suns have exceeded expectations this season, and they have put the Western Conference on notice.

MLB

The Cactus League and the Grapefruit League will have busy weekends, as Opening Day is getting closer. Many Major League Baseball teams are starting to play their potential starters more, and pitchers are starting to get stretched out. With only two weeks until Opening Day, teams are really starting to prepare and get ready for the 162 game grind.

NASCAR

The NASCAR series will head South to Atlanta for a busy weekend. On Saturday, the Xfinity Series will be front and center, as the EchoPark 250 will be run. On Sunday, the main event of the NASCAR weekend will take place, as the Atlanta Motor Speedway will host the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500.

PGA Tour – Golf

After last weekend’s “fifth major”, many of the top golfers in the world are taking the weekend off. After the Players Championship at Sawgrass was played last weekend, many golfers decided to skip this weekend’s Honda Classic. Even though the tour stayed in beautiful South Florida at the National Golf Club Champion Course in Palm Beach Gardens, many felt that they needed a different type of vacation. Although this event is lacking many of the top names in the sport, there will still be plenty of great golf being played here.
