If you’re a fan of the NBA or NHL, this weekend will be a great weekend for you! With the playoffs for both of these sports in full swing, you’ll be able to watch some great action. We could potentially see some Game 7’s in the NBA. We can’t forget that the PGA Tour will be in action as well, with a tournament packed full of some of the sport’s top golfers. The NASCAR circuit will have a busy weekend, and we can’t forget one of the four tennis majors, the French Open, is being played. Let’s take a look at some of this weekend’s top sporting events.

Top Sports Events for This Weekend – June 5 – June 6
NBA 2021 Playoffs
We could be seeing a weekend full of Game 7’s, along with the start of arguably the best series we’ll see in the playoffs this coming weekend. We’re not sure if we’ll see Anthony Davis again in the playoffs, but if we do, it could be in a potential Game 7 against the Suns. Phoenix currently holds a 3-2 lead, and if the Lakers can take Game 6 at home, we’ll see a Game 7 on Saturday.
The Portland and Denver series has been a very competitive one. Damian Lillard and Nikola Jokic have led their respective teams. Saturday night could see a Game 7 between the two in Denver. The same can be said for the Dallas Mavericks vs. Los Angeles Clippers series. Luka Doncic and Kawhi Leonard have been stellar for their teams. They could play in a Game 7 on Sunday if the Clippers can win Game 6 at Dallas on Friday.
The series that everyone has been waiting to see will open up on Saturday in the Eastern Conference semifinals. We’ll see the “Big 3” of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets take on the superstar trio of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday of the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of their series. This could turn out to be the most competitive and exciting series in this year’s playoffs.
NHL 2021 Playoffs
Speaking of playoffs, the Stanley Cup Finals are in full swing. The second round of the playoffs have started off with a bang and will continue into the weekend. On Saturday, the Carolina Hurricanes will look to avoid going down 3-0 as they head to Tampa Bay to take on the powerful Lightning. The Boston Bruins will head to Long Island, New York, to take on the New York Islanders. That series is knotted at one game apiece.
On Sunday, we’ll see the Winnipeg Jets take on the Montreal Canadiens in Game 2 of their series. Hockey will be returning to Sin City, as the Colorado Avalanche will take a 2-0 series lead to Las Vegas to take on the Golden Knights. Las Vegas can’t afford to go down 3-0 to arguably the best team in the NHL.
PGA Tour
This weekend’s stop on the PGA Tour is the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide. This field is loaded with some of the top golfers in the world. Hideki Matsuyama, Justin Thomas, Patrick Reed, Jon Rahm, Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele, Jordan Spieth, Bryson DeChambeau, Rory McIlroy, and Patrick Cantlay highlight the field.
