Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Top Sports Events for This Weekend – July 10 –  July 11

NBA Finals

After playing Game 2 on Thursday night, the NBA Finals will head to the Eastern Conference host site, as the Phoenix Suns will make their way to the Fiserv Form to take on the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 3 of their best-of-seven series. Phoenix took Game 1 118-105 behind 32 points from Chris Paul. Giannis Antetokounmpo made his return to the Bucks lineup and should be even healthier for Game 2 and Game 3. This could be a must-win for the Bucks if they should happen to lose Game 2. Coming back from a 3-0 deficit in any playoff series is a very hard thing to do, and Milwaukee doesn’t want to be in that situation.

The Fiserv Form and the Deer District outside of the Forum will be all amped up for their first NBA Finals game since 1974.

UFC – The Trilogy Fight

UFC 264 will be in Las Vegas in front of a packed house at the T Mobile Arena for the third installment of Conner McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier. This will be the rubber match of the series, as McGregor took the first fight in 2014, Poirier won last year’s bout, and this one will decide who is the better fighter.

There are a lot of subplots to this fight. In the last go-around, McGregor acted like a gentleman until after the fight when McGregor promised to make a large donation to Poirier’s foundation and then never followed through. Things got dicey on social media, and many words were exchanged which led to this fight. There’s a lot of bad blood between these two, and they will finally get to settle their difference once and for all in the octagon in front of a raucous crowd.

Start Your Engines! – NASCAR

The NASCAR Circuit will be heading to Atlanta for a weekend full of racing. On Saturday, the Xfinity Series will take the track for the Credit Karma Money 250. On Sunday, the Cup Series takes center stage as the Atlanta Motor Speedway will host the Quaker State 400 presented by Walmart. This will be the 20th point race of the season for the Cup Series.

Kyle Larson has four wins on the season and is a favorite at Atlanta this weekend. Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Busch also have good odds to take the checkered flag on Sunday.

MLB

As this weekend is the last regular-season action we’ll see before the All-Star Break, we have some games that will catch the eyes of baseball fans. In Houston, the New York Yankees will make an appearance at Minute Maid Park. It has been a disaster of a season thus far for the Yankees as they sit in 4th place in the American League East, 9 ½ games behind the division-leading Boston Red Sox. As for the Astros, they have one of the top offenses in the league, and they’re sitting atop the AL West.

Two teams headed in different directions will battle it out in the NL Central as the Chicago Cubs travel to St. Louis to take on the Cardinals. The Cubs enter Wednesday night’s game on an 11-game losing streak. Prior to the streak, the Cubs were sitting atop the NL Central, now they’re in 4th place, nine games back of the Milwaukee Brewers. The Cardinals haven’t exactly been setting the world on fire, but they seem to be putting things together to make a run at the NL Central.
