Top Sports Events for This Weekend – January 7 – January 8

A Big Weekend in the NFL

It’s the final weekend of the regular season, and we have a lot of very important games this weekend. The Tennessee Titans will head to Jacksonville on Saturday night to take on the Jaguars.

The winner of this game will win the AFC South. Tennessee is fighting a lot of injuries while the Jags have been on a roll. We’ll see if Tennessee can turn things around or if Jacksonville heads into the playoffs with a ton of momentum.

In the AFC East, we have two huge games. They will claim the final Wild Card spot if Miami can beat the Jets. The Patriots will head to Buffalo to play the Bills. If New England wins, their playoff hopes are still alive. With a loss, the Patriots would need a lot of things to happen in order to get into the playoffs.

The Seattle Seahawks host the Los Angeles Rams. The Seahawks need to win to have a shot at the final Wild Card spot in the NFC.

The Green Bay Packers will host the Detroit Lions, and with a win, the Packers will clinch the final NFC playoff spot. If Detroit wins, then we have a lot of scenarios.

Hoops Action

In the NBA, we have a huge matchup on Saturday night. The first-place New Orleans Pelicans will head to Dallas to take on the red-hot Mavericks.

Luka Doncic has been playing beyond an elite level over the past few weeks. The Mavs are on a seven-game winning streak and are climbing up the Western Conference standings. Even though Zion Williamson won’t be playing, this will still be a huge matchup.

On Sunday, the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers will head out west to take on the Phoenix Suns. Donovan Mitchell has been a huge addition to the Cavs roster this season, and Cleveland has a shot at winning the Eastern Conference this season. Phoenix has hit a rough patch and is looking to get back onto the winning track. This should be a fun one to watch!

PGA Tour

The Sentry Tournament of Champions will be held in beautiful Hawaii this weekend. The Plantation Course at Kapalua will be the scene for this one.

A lot of big-name players, including Tony Finau, Collin Morikawa, Patrick Cantlay, Max Homa, Scottie Scheffler, Will Zalatoris, Jordan Spieth, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, and Xander Schauffele, will headline this event.
