Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Top Sports Events for This Weekend – Feb. 13 – Feb. 14

NBA

As we’re coming close to the halfway point of this year’s modified NBA season, the basketball action is heating up. On the Saturday night Prime Time game, we’ll see Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving travel across the country to take on Steph Curry and his Golden State Warriors. This should be a fun offensive showdown.

On Sunday, the featured game will see Lebron James, Anthony Davis and the Lakers travel to Denver to face Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. These two teams could once again square off in the Western Conference Finals. James is playing at an elite level, and Jokic is one of the top big men in the league, as he is close to averaging a triple-double.

College Basketball

We’ll see some great college hoops action this weekend as well. In the Big 12, the #12 Oklahoma Sooners will travel to Morgantown to take on Bob Huggins and his 14th-ranked West Virginia Mountaineers. In another matchup involving two ranked teams, Jay Wright and his #5 Villanova Wildcats will take on Greg McDermott’s 19th-rated Creighton Blue Jays. And finally, we’ll see the return of the #3 Michigan Wolverines, as they’ll play their first game in three weeks against #21 Wisconsin.

2021 Australian Open

The Australian Open is being played this weekend. As usual, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are two of the favorites to win this event. Roger Federer is not in this year’s tournament. On the ladies side, Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams should be in contention to take home the title in the first Grand Slam event of the season.

PGA Tour – AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is being played this weekend. The Pro-Am is one of the most fun events, as many top celebrities participate in this one. However, there is no Pro-Am portion this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although this tournament doesn’t have as many top names this year, it still should be very competitive. Dustin Johnson had to withdraw, but we’ll still see Patrick Cantlay, Phil Mickelson, Paul Casey, Jason Day, and Jordan Spieth.

UFC 258

UFC 258 will take place on Saturday, as we’ll see a major welterweight championship bout as the champion, Kamaru Usman will take on top contender, and former teammate Gilbert Burns. These two former friends are now bitter enemies, and will be looking to destroy one another. Usman is undefeated in his two years in the UFC. Burns has won his last six fights, so he definitely has momentum headed into the biggest fight of his career. This should be a fight full of action, and will make for a very good bout!
