Top Sports Events for This Weekend – December 10 – December 11

NFL Action

There are a lot of games with huge playoff implications this weekend. The surging Detroit Lions take on the frontrunners in the NFC North, the Minnesota Vikings. At 5-7, the Lions need a lot of things to go their way if they want to make the playoffs. Dan Campbell’s team has been playing well, and they could give the Vikings a run for their money.

It’s hard to believe, but the New York Jets are currently a playoff team. The Jets will make the trip to Buffalo to take on the top team in the AFC, the Buffalo Bills. Since Mike White has taken over the quarterback duties for the Jets, the offense has looked much better. New York has one of the best defenses in the league. We’ll see if Josh Allen can avenge the loss to the Jets earlier in the season.

The Philadelphia Eagles will take on the New York Giants. Right now, the Giants are a playoff team, but a loss in this one could be tough. Philadelphia has the best record in the league, and is playing well on both sides of the ball. Philadelphia needs to keep winning to ensure that they have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Tampa Bay is currently leading the NFC South, while the San Francisco 49ers are at the top of the NFC West. These two will meet on Sunday. We’ll see if Brock Purdy, the Mr. Irrelevant of the 2022 NFL Draft can beat one of the greatest draft stories of all time, in Tom Brady, a sixth-round pick.

In the Sunday night game, the Miami Dolphins will head to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers. This will be more like a home game for the Dolphins, as SoFi Stadium will be filled with Miami fans. The Chargers know that a loss here will hurt their playoff chances, and the Dolphins need to get back on the winning track.

NBA

On Saturday night, two teams that can light up the scoreboard will meet in an NBA Finals rematch, as the Boston Celtics will head out west to take on the Golden State Warriors. The Celtics currently have the best record in the NBA, and are the league’s highest-scoring team. Steph Curry and the Warriors have had their struggles this season, but they’ll be ready for this one.

The Match

We’ll see a made-for-tv event on Saturday, as the duo of Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods will take on Justin Thomas and Jordan Speith in The Match VII at the Pelican Golf Club. These longtime friends will entertain everyone in this event. We’ll get to see the fun side of these four golfers as each duo tries to outdo the other.
