It’s hard to believe, but we’re nearing the end of the NBA regular season, and this is the final weekend of the regular season for college basketball. As teams are gearing up for the postseason, every game becomes more important.

We’ll also see some great golf action, as the Masters is nearing, and the PGA pros are ramping things up to prepare for a trip to Augusta. Here is a look at some of the top sporting events for the upcoming weekend.

Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Top Sports Events for This Weekend – March 5 – March 6

NBA Action

On Saturday night, we’ll see two headliner games. The first one will involve the two teams that many think will square off for the Eastern Conference crown, as the Miami Heat will host the Philadelphia 76ers. The James Harden and Joel Embiid duo will be a big challenge for the stellar defense of the Miami Heat.

Bam Adebayo will be able to neutralize the Harden and Embiid pick and roll, so this will be interesting to watch. We will see if Philadelphia can get some others to step up, while we will also be interested to see whether or not Philadelphia will play good enough defense to stop Miami’s weapons.

In the other headliner game of the evening, we’ll see the Golden State Warriors, who have been in a slump as of late, take on another slumping team, the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers will be desperate for a win, as they’re in jeopardy of not qualifying for the play-in tournament. The Warriors want to get back on the winning track, as the playoffs are nearing.

College Basketball

With this being the last weekend of the regular season, we will see some great college hoops action. On Saturday, two games really caught our eye. The first one will be an SEC matchup featuring the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Tennessee Volunteers.

Arkansas has had a great season, and they think they can make a long tournament run. Tennessee has one of the top defenses in the country, and they’re a tough team to beat at home.

In the other top game, we’ll see the greatest rivalry in college basketball as the North Carolina Tar Heels will head down Tobacco Road to Cameron Indoor Stadium to take on the Duke Blue Devils.

As if this game needed any more excitement, this will be Coach K’s last ever game at Cameron. The Cameron Crazies will be louder than ever, and the Blue Devils will be fired up even more than normal for this one.

PGA Tour

This weekend’s stop on the PGA Tour takes us to Bay Hill in Orlando, Florida, for the Mastercard Arnold Palmer Invitational. This tournament always has a loaded field and heading into Friday’s action, Rory McIlroy was the leader at -7.

As the golfers prepare for the Masters in just a few weeks, this tournament is always very important. We should see some great action in this one, as the top golfers in the world make their way to Florida to try and win one of their favorite stops on the PGA Tour.
