Weekly Sports Recap & Update – June 2nd Edition

Now that the calendar has flipped to June, the sports calendar is going to start to get lighter and lighter by the day. You will notice that change beginning this week, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some great events set to take place.

Not only are there some great sporting events set to take place this weekend but there are also some good betting opportunities. Here is a look at three events that should have your viewing and betting attention.

Betting Action: Weekly Sports Recap & Updates

Memorial Golf Tournament

The Memorial Golf Tournament is taking place this weekend, and this is always a popular stop on the PGA Tour. The Memorial is held at Muirfield Village, which is a course that was designed by Jack Nicklaus.

Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm were the big betting favorites heading into this tournament, but that is no longer the case after Round 1. With the action continuing throughout the weekend, you are going to see the betting odds shifting throughout the event.

Heading into Round two, here is a look at some of the top betting betting favorites that you are going to see:

  • Jon Rahm +500

  • Patrick Cantlay +600

  • Jordan Spieth +850

  • Tyrell Hatton +1100

  • Rory McIlroy +1600

There are several other names that are near the top of the leaderboard after the first round, but the odds still favor some of the best golfers in the world to come up with a win and get this done.

Florida Panthers vs. Vegas Golden Knights -130

Game 1 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals is set to take place on Saturday night, and this should be a very interesting matchup. The Vegas Golden Knights are the moneyline betting favorites in Game 1 against an underdog Florida Panthers team.

Florida has been outstanding throughout the postseason, and Matthew Tkachuk has put up some monster numbers on offense. The Panthers have also been a terrific defensive team, but they will struggle to shut down the Golden Knights.

Vegas is a team that can do everything well, and they know that they can’t afford to get beat in the series opener. Take the Golden Knights -130 as they come away with a victory.

Miami Heat +8.5 vs. Denver Nuggets

Game 2 of the NBA Finals is set to take place on Sunday night, and the Miami Heat are going to be trying to turn this series around. Denver cruised to a big win in the series opener behind another triple-double from Nikola Jokic.

Miami got to the free throw line just two times in Game 1 as they just continued to shoot way too many shots from deep. You can expect Jimmy Butler to lead a ferocious attack on Sunday night, and this Heat team has been resilient throughout the postseason.

The problem for the Heat is that the Nuggets are as steady as they come, especially on their home floor. Take the 8.5 points and bet on the Heat in Game 2, but Denver is going to come up with another victory.
