As the college basketball regular season is wrapping up, and the NBA season is nearing the All-Star Break, this weekend will be full of basketball action. The NHL season is in full swing, and we’re also seeing numerous PGA Tour events, along with the return of NASCAR races. Baseball fans will be thrilled, as we’ll start seeing Spring Training games this weekend. Let’s take a look at some of the top sporting events of the upcoming weekend.

Top Sports Events for This Weekend – Feb. 27 – Feb. 28

PGA  Tour

At this point in the season, the PGA Tour usually makes a stop in Mexico, but due to COVID restrictions, the PGA started their Florida swing a little bit earlier than usual. Instead of the WGC-Mexico Championship, this weekend’s event is now known as the WGC-Workday Championship at the Concession in Bradenton, Florida. The WGC-Workday Championship has a field full of the top golfers in the world. The field includes Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay, Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Reed, Brooks Koepka, Sungjae Im, and Adam Scott among others.

NASCAR

If you’re a NASCAR fan, then you’ll want to be in front of your television on Sunday, as the Dixie Vodka 400 will take place at the Homestead Miami Speedway. The 400-mile event will take place under the hot Florida sun. Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex, Jr., Kyle Busch, and Chase Elliott are on the board as the favorites to take home the checkered flag on Sunday.

MLB

Every Major League Baseball fan should be happy, as Spring Training games start on Sunday. 26 teams will be in action, as the baseball preseason officially gets underway. Baseball fans have been clamoring for game action since November, and now they’ll get to see their beloved sport in the limelight again.

UFC

If you like Mixed Martial Arts, there’ll be some exciting fights for you to watch on Saturday night, as the UFC hosts another Fight Night. The main event will be a heavyweight showdown between two top contenders in the division. The third-ranked heavyweight, Jarizinho “Bigi Boy” Rozenstruik will take on French contender Ciryl Gane. The winner of this fight will more than likely earn a shot at the heavyweight champion at some point in the near future.

NBA

There will be a lot of great NBA action this weekend. The Saturday night prime time game will feature Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks, taking on Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets. This one should see a lot of points scored. On Sunday, we could be seeing a potential NBA Finals matchup, as the Los Angeles Clippers take on the Milwaukee Bucks.

College Basketball

As the NCAA Tournament inches closer and closer, the college basketball action is heating up. On Saturday, we’ll see 20 ranked teams in action, with the premier game seeing the #2 Baylor Bears travel to Lawrence, Kansas to take on the #17 Kansas Jayhawks. On Sunday
